My body is shattered and I can see my soul spilling out around me, staining the carpet.
Well, I thought that coming home from my holiday on Monday would give me enough days to recover from my jet lag to be ready to go out tonight, but it seems I was saddly mistaken.
I blame the following itinerary:
05/07/08 23:30: Thunder Bay - Get to bed after final farewells
06/07/08 04:00: Thunder Bay - 4 hours of sleep later, up and on route to airport
06/07/08 06:00: 120 minute flight to Toronto
06/07/08 08:30: Toronto - begin 13 hour layover in Toronto, final opportunity to indulge in American style greaseball burgers exercised.
06/07/08 23:00: 7 hour flight to London - indeterminate amount of fitful airplane rest gained.
07/07/08 13:00: 3.5 hour train to Exeter - no sleep gained
07/07/08 17:00: Exeter - Collect cat from cat-jail, replace rotten food in fridge with some iron rations
07/07/08 22:00: Bristol - Collect sister from Bristol Airport
08/07/08 01:00: Exeter - Finally get to bed, set alarm for 08:00 to collect dog, forget to change time on alarm to GMT+1
08/07/08 13:00 Exeter - (aka, 08:00 GMT-4): Alarm goes off. Go play tourists and collect dog.
09/07/08 05:00: Exeter - Finally get chatty girls to acknowledge it's really late and go to bed.
09/07/08 10:00: Exeter - Go to Dee's graduation, celebratory dinner, return to base for cocktails.
10/07/08 01:00: Exeter - Finally get to bed.
10/07/08 04:30: Bristol - Take sister back to Bristol airport and ship her off to Ireland, head straight to work from airport.
10/07/08 16:00: Ilminster - Type out this overly long and boring itinerary to get to the eventual point.
In the past five days: total sleep gained == approx 20 hours.
Oh yeah, and it's not done yet; tomorrow I return to work and then have to go to the Grad Ball (that one's going to get sloppy) that evening. Then on Saturday, I've scheduled my death from exhaustion.
So in summary, I know I was exepcted to come out tonight, but I really don't think that's going to be possible. I'm sorry to everyone for bailing, but I really do need to marshal my strength for tomorrow.
